The Council chamber shimmered, a nexus of conflicting realities. Holograms flickered, ghosts of authority and dissent dancing in the poisoned air of the Pure City. Dr. Lian Xue stood before them, the weight of four billion years pressing down on her slender shoulders. Her voice, though trembling, carried the sharp clarity of a newly honed blade. “The Infinity Gate,” she repeated, her gaze sweeping across the ethereal faces of the Council. “The Pangu-Makers built it not as a monument, but as a cage. A prison for the Abyss, and for what lies beyond it.”

The Celestial Man representative, a construct of polished chrome and sapphire light, pulsed with disdain. “Pangu-Makers. Abyss. These are the fever dreams of primitives, Doctor. We have shed such superstitions. Our logic is our shield, our silicon our soul.” The words, devoid of inflection, echoed with an unnerving finality.

Beside him, the Gene-Aristocrat envoy, a being of fluid amber and shifting crystalline facets, tilted its head. Its voice, a melodic cascade of chimes, held a predatory curiosity. “A cage, you say? And this ‘reforging’… does it require resources? Labor? Perhaps a venture worth investing in?” The envoy’s focus was not on the impending doom, but on the potential for profit, a testament to their millennia-long pursuit of eternal life.
