Chapter 9
Whispers in Crystal
The Gene-Aristocrat Envoy probes Lian Xue, seeing not salvation but opportunity. Can their crystalline bodies withstand the transformation or the Harvesters' wrath? Profit is their only god.

The weight of the Elder’s denouncement still echoed in her ears, a harsh counterpoint to the Envoy’s measured tones. "It is not about market, Envoy. It is about survival. The Pangu-Makers, these ancient farmers, have cultivated us for millennia. The Harvesters are their tools, and our doom is their harvest."
